ok..let's wrap this up.

by now i'm sure anyone who has read these were asking why i didnt stay at Gameworks. . the honest truth was that at one point i was given the opportunity to take the training courses to become a Lead and be able to move up to a Supervisor. .but i was a fuck up. .i loved challanges but i loved to have fun more so. .i was and will always be a bit of a smart ass and back then i liked to party. .. if you haven't figured it out yet..i LOVE to drink and i'm older and wiser now then i was then. .so i drank..smoked the herb and was a sloppy bastard. eventually i just left because it was not worth the drive vs. the pay and got a closer job with better hours. but i'm sure the following didn't help.

one night, with a friend, i did acid for the first and last time. . it didnt kick in till late at night at my apartment and it was fun till i tried to go to sleep.. .that was NOT a fun experience. . so i had to work the next morning at 10 am..which i could normally handle even after a night of hard drinking...but with no sleep....still a little shaken and definately still seeing tracers. .i tried to call off with no luck. ....being in a place like that...loud music and noises...flashing lights EVERYWHERE..people talking to you..you talking to people... it was not enjoyable. .i was not fucked up..i wasn't even really tripping anymore.. i was coming down..and it was not good. i felt that my only savior would be to tell my direct super and hope he'd take pity on me. .and he did.. he stuck me in the Jurassic Park room which was not usually very busy. ..by the time my shift was up..i went home..slam'd a few rum and cokes and slept for as long as i could.

..like i said..i'm a smartass...and the younger i was the more so it was evident.. .the great thing about being a PJ was that i had a headset and would hear the stupid conversations the Supervisors would have with eachother. .other "regular employees" never had time to listen and weren't allowed. . .buuuut...i could..and i'm ben.

Super no1: "ok..for a round at applebee's. . .where was the 1968 winter Olympic games held?"

Super no2: "Nagano?"

Lead no1: "Calgary!"

Ben: "SANTA'S VILLAGE!"

i got my PJ shifts taken away for a week for that one. . .thank god i only had 1 shift left on the week.

....one of the other jobs a PJ would do on off hours, would be to work the Redemption Counter..which is where you took your tickets you win off skee ball and other shit and turn them for prizes. when working the Redemption Counter, you are taught that basically it's ok to give some of our guests extra tickets here and there when it best suits the situation. . .like if a kid has like 5420 tickets and wants some crazy shit that's 6000 tickets.. .fuck it....give it to them. . .maybe. . if it's a group of hot drunk chicks and they want like 10 extra hello kitty stickers..fuck yea! . ..and so it goes. .. .the employees that know how to do it right bring in more money...so most times that was your job if you were good at it. .i was so every now and then it was my job. .. till that fatefull day.. .......... ..

this kid was in with his 2 buddies.. they were maybe 12. ..spoiled little rich white kids. . .i'm really not that much of a racist..but i get sOOOOOO angry at richy bitchy white kids.. . .needless to say it was this little bastards birthday..and his MILF of a mom gave him and his friends like a 100$ playing card, left them there and they went straight to Redemption after maybe using 20 bucks of it on the main attractions. . .

birthday kid: "i want that stereo. give me that stereo."

ben: "dude, you got like 500 tickets and it's like 700,000"

birthday kid: "fine..give me that gameboy"

ben: "come on bro...look i'll give you guys whatever you want on that shelf there or just comeback in a bit"

...this went on back and forth for like 2 hours. . .he'd win tickets and come back and demand i gave him something for nothing.. .all the while i kept hookin his buddies up whenever they were off a few tickets, hoping that the fuck would understand i'd be cool if we would just not be a fucker. . .but every time..every damn time i'd hear him say some shit. .the kind of shit you hear from fucker that think they are better than you because you are "working for them".. ..and most times i can take it IF it's from someone older than me. ..but no..this kid had to push it. .and i was just a little too comfortable in my job.

after denying another obsured request. .. as he turned to his friends and i was grabbing another prize for him.. . .

birthday kid: "man fuck you." . .as he's laughing to his buddies

ben: ".. .(with a short laugh) woa woa... .fuck me?! . no man fuck you.

birthday kid: "YOU cant cuss at me!"

ben: "I cant fucking cuss at you?! You cant fucking cuss at me you fucking fuck. Get the fuck out of here!"

birthday kid: "you cant kick me out! you're cussing at me!"

ben: "oh yea?! (getting on my headset) Redemption to Lead?"

Lead: "Go ahead Redemption"

ben: "I have some guests that need to be escorted out."

Lead: "I'll be right there"

.. .. . when my Lead got there i told him the 2 kids where being ok but the birthday kid was being rude and swearing at me up and down..the great thing was that i knew that they would kick them out pretty quick because that's the policy and that the kid would be so heated that it would seem obvious he was getting out of hand....ESPECIALLY since he had no adult supervision.

the next day i had to drive down to talk to the mangers/supers and explain myself because the kid's MILF said we ripped them off and i went off on the kid. . .i told them i didnt' but i would apologize anyway to the mother if they wanted. . .i dont think i ever did but they told me i was on mandatory "leave of absence" for like 3 days. . which were my next days off. . .HA! fuck that kid!
